Cygnet Autism Support Programme

This free, in-person group class is for parents and carers of children and young people aged 5 to 18 with autism,  whether diagnosed or suspected.

What the programme covers

Over 8 weeks, the programme covers:

  • an introduction to autism
  • experiences and perspectives of parents and carers
  • how your child thinks, learns, and experiences the world through their senses
  • how your child interacts with others, and ways to support them in making and maintaining friendships
  • how your child communicates, with practical ways to support their understanding and self-expression
  • understanding and supporting your child’s behaviour

The programme aims to help you understand the strengths and challenges linked to autism. It also helps to build your confidence in understanding your child’s behaviour and knowing how best to support them.

When the programme starts

The in-person classes are on Tuesdays from 9.45am to 12.15pm, at the Crowndale Centre, 218 Eversholt Street, London, NW1 1BD. The next programme starts on Tuesday 20 January. There will be no session during February half term.

We can support you with attending, including travel, childcare, and interpreting services.

How to join the programme

Spaces are now full for parents and carers of primary school-aged children, but there are still places for those with children in Year 6 and secondary school.
