Events for parents and carers of those with SEND
In Camden, we offer a range of inclusive parenting classes, which are open to everyone. We also offer activities for children and young people aged 0 to 25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and events and training opportunities for their parents and carers.
SEND Strategy Planning Meeting
- parents/carers of children with SEND
- virtual event on 12 January 5pm to 8pm
- in person event on 15 January, 11.30am to 1pm at the Greenwood Centre

Cygnet Autism Support Programme
- parents and carers of children and young people aged 5 to 18, with autism (no diagnosis needed)
- weekly, in person, on Tuesdays, 9.45am to 12.15pm
- programme starts on Tuesday 20 January
- sessions take place at the Crowndale Centre, 218 Eversholt Street, London, NW1 1BD
Spaces are now full for parents of primary school-aged children, but we still have availability for those with children in Year 6 and secondary school.

ADHD Parent Programme
- parents or carers of children with an ADHD diagnosis
- 6 week programme, various dates
- sessions are offered online
The Brandon Centre offers a free 6-week parenting programme for parents and carers of children aged 5 to 12 years with a clinical diagnosis of ADHD, or who are on the waiting list to be assessed. Making Sense of Autism
- parents or carers who would like a better understanding of autism (no diagnosis needed)
- 2 hour sessions, 4 February midday to 2pm and 2 April 7pm to 9pm
- sessions are offered online
This is a basic autism awareness training for people who would like a better understanding of autism and how to support autistic children. It takes place online, over a 2 hour session. To sign up, complete this form.
Play in the Early Years
- parent or carers of children aged 4 to 11
- 2 hour sessions, 11 February midday to 2pm and 3 June 7pm to 9pm
- sessions are offered online
This training aims to highlight the importance of play and how autism can impact a child’s play development. We also provide strategies that can support autistic children with their play development. To sign up, complete this form.
Play in the Early Years
- parents and carers of children aged 4 to 16
- 2 hour sessions, 18 March midday to 2pm and 24 June 7pm to 9pm
- sessions are offered online
This training explores causes of anxiety in autistic children and young people and how they might express anxiety. We also provide strategies to support autistic children and young people to manage and reduce their anxiety. To sign up, complete this form.
SEND Surgery
Come along to our drop-in sessions open to all parents and carers. SEND officers and managers, as well as other services within the SEND & Inclusion department will be available to answer your questions and offer advice about SEND in Camden. Various sessions will be held throughout the academic year, at different locations.
